What Is Ichigo Ichie? 10 Ways to Make Each Day Special

Published

on

What Is Ichigo Ichie Image

Ichigo Ichie can be translated from Japanese (一期一会) as, “for this time only,” and “once in a lifetime.” It also can be translated “one time, one meeting”. It roughly translates to the idea that we live “each moment, only once” and that the value of each encounter is that it happens only once in a lifetime.

Ichigo Ichie means what is happening now will never happen again. We should value every moment of life as a treasure. This means that every meeting in our life, all our experiences are unique events that will never happen again. And if we live life without enjoying it, if we don’t pay attention to the simple little things our lives are made of we miss these moments forever.

The practice of Ichigo Ichie helps us find meaning in every insignificant moment of our life, appreciate the time spent with loved ones, and remember that our family and friends deserve our full presence and attention.

Then every moment of life will become more valuable, and life itself will be easier and happier-without regret about the past and anxiety about the future.

In this article, we want to share with you the 10 main principles of Japanese Ichigo Ichie philosophy.

10 Ichigo Ichie Principles

1. Don’t postpone special moments

Don’t put anything off for later or for a special occasion. Every moment in life is special. If you don’t live it completely, you will lose it forever. Life is a question of now or never.

2. Live as if this were going to happen only once in your life

special moments image

Ichigo Ichie teaches us to be aware of the unique and once-in-a-lifetime nature of each meeting. Live as if every meeting with your loved ones is your last and may never happen again. Human nature is that we only value what we can lose. All quarrels and disagreements take time, which is known to be fleeting. Instead of reproaches, say important words to your loved ones when meeting them. You never know when the last meeting will come.

3. Dwell in the present

Be present in the now moment. The past gives rise to regret. The future gives rise to anxiety. In any case, you can’t change what has already happened or predict what will happen. But here in this moment, all the possibilities in the world are alive.

4. Do something you’ve never done before

As Einstein said, you can’t do the same thing over and over and expect different results. Therefore, if you want to change your life and become a happier person you should make a new habit – every day do something you’ve never done before. Every day allow something new to blossom inside you.

5. Practice meditation

Ichigo Ichie Meditation Image

It allows you to stop the wheel of daily routine, start observing life as if from the outside and remember that you are much more than your social statuses. After all, meditation will help you to calm down and open the doors to well-being.

6. Mindfully use your five senses

Train yourself in the art of listening, watching, touching, tasting, and smelling to give each moment the richness of human perception. This will help you live in the present, appreciate what you have, and better understand yourself and other people. And don’t forget to put the phone aside.

7. Notice coincidences

Accidents are not accidental! Trust your intuition and learn to see the signs that the universe sends your way. Writing a journal will help you track all the signs from the Universe and their meanings.

8. Make each day a celebration

celebrate each moment image

Don’t wait for the right moment – a vacation, a trip, a birthday – to experience extraordinary things. Make each day special! Every day can be a celebration if you allow yourself to join it!

9. If you don’t like your reality, change it

We all have the strength, ability, and potential to live the way we want and be who we want to be. Aren’t we? We are transformative by nature and have the power to reinvent ourselves as many times as it takes. If your reality is too negative, dull, and boring you have all the resources to create another one! You are the creator of your own reality. Start changing it by changing your thoughts! Become more positive. Remember that you can manifest anything you choose for yourself. So choose well!

10. Be a hunter of special moments

Train yourself to “zoom in” every moment of your life and make it special. Focus on the positivity! Every cup of tea, every meeting, every walk can be special. Just add some special details to them so that every moment becomes memorable. As with any activity, the more you practice, the better and more abundant the results will be.

The Bottom Line

Ichigo Ichie philosophy helps us remember that we can make each day of our lives special. And every special day is a sum of special moments. It’s in our power to make a moment special. All we need to do is to be present and treat every moment of our lives as the most special one. Then each day will be special.

Hair connects us with Higher forces, cosmic energy, God, Higher consciousness. By connecting through the hair to the Cosmos, a person is fed by the energies of Abundance and Health.

Somatic Narcissist: A Detailed Guide to Identify One

Published

on

somatic narcissist image

Narcissistic behavior is a disorder that manifests in many ways. For a somatic narcissist, it is all about physical appearance. If you’ve met someone whose self-love is more about how he looks, he might be a somatic narcissist. In this guide, we want to explore how somatic narcissist functions. More so, we’ll share with you 7 key signs to look out for when you are interacting with a somatic narcissist. Let’s get to it!

Categories of Narcissists

Psychologists classify narcissists into three categories:

  1. a cerebral narcissist;
  2. a sexual narcissist;
  3. a somatic narcissist.

Now, a cerebral narcissist will want to assert his values on you based on his superior view of his intellect.

In contrast, a sexual narcissist sees his sexual prowess domineering over everyone.

However, a somatic narcissist will want you to acknowledge his worth based on his physical appearance. We are discussing these types today.

The Typical Somatic Narcissist

Have you ever met persons obsessed with the finer details of their appearances? They will spend hours in front of the mirror each day to prepare for the day. If it is a woman, she will talk endlessly about her hair, latest beauty treatment, or clothes. For men, they tend to spend lots of time and money at the gym to achieve and maintain the body image they want.

7 Tell-Tale Signs That You Are Dealing With a Somatic Narcissist

#1: Appearance Comes First

somatic narcissistic behavior image

A somatic narcissist will spend an unreasonable amount of time and money to get the perfect body image they want. For example, they prefer exotic dining and designer wear. They will also pay hefty subscriptions to join a premium fitness club. Such persons will also spend most of their income on cosmetic surgery, trying to correct their looks.

On the same note, a somatic narcissist will always find fault in other people’s appearances. For example, they will make nasty jokes about an obese person. Alternatively, they make it their business to follow up and set unrealistic standards for others.

Do you know those persons who give unsolicited advice on how to dress up around them? Well, it gets worse when a somatic narcissist leads a team. He will try and impose his eating and fitness habits on to the other team members.  It does not matter whether such practices will suit the team or not.

#2: They Have No Intimate Sexual Relationship

Intimate Sexual Relationship image

Sex partners are often mere objects of pleasure to a somatic narcissist. For, they view the sexual act as a means to conquer the other. Hence, they will seduce and have several partners at the same time.  In turn, they validate their view of themselves by feeling sexually desirable to multiple partners. Yet, they will not show any emotional involvement in the relationships. It is their way to conquer and move on to the next target without getting hurt in the process.

#3: They Are Self-Centered

Self-Centered narcissist image

Like other narcissists, a somatic narcissist always thinks about his interests above those around him. For example, when you excel as a team, he will want to take credit for the feat. A typical somatic narcissist shows no empathy for those around him. Instead, this single relation will further drain the emotions of anyone near him.

#4: A Sadistic Sense Of Pleasure

Does your partner find pleasure in bringing you down? Then, you could be dealing with a somatic narcissist. Some somatic narcissists enjoy hurting others to gratify themselves. Take, for example, your boss scolding you for your executive image around customers. It only means that he sees you as a threat to his ego. In turn, he will give you unfounded punishments to try to discourage you from looking superior before him.

#5: They Will Not Accept Negative Criticism

Negative criticism image

A somatic narcissist is never the type to receive negative criticism without putting up a fight. His self-righteous image of himself makes him get aggressive when probed for his flawed works. In response, such a person can become abusive or violent to deny responsibility for his actions. They do this to avoid any humiliation and emptiness for accepting that they are in the wrong. To spot this sign in a somatic narcissist, try taking part in an exercise that will conflict with their interest. If he overreacts or behaves irrationally, then that’s your proof right there.

#6: Their Needs Come First

7 Signs You Are In Love with a Narcissist Image

A typical somatic narcissist will appear to you as a charming and charismatic person. Hence, they will quickly draw you to associate with them. In fact, the more you give them your attention and approval, the more they want you in their lives. Yet, as time passes by, you notice how they always give their needs a priority above everyone else’s needs. When you stop feeding their narcissist needs, they immediately start losing interest in you.

#7: They Are Master Manipulators

narcissistic manipulator image

Does your partner or colleague manipulate your emotions to get what he wants from you? You know, they lie about something to twist your reality. In addition, what they say is the opposite of what they do. Moreover, they always want to make you feel guilty of something so that you can give in to their demands.

If you have someone who lies and is still playing a victim, he is a master manipulator. Somatic narcissists, too tend to use the gaslighting technique to get what they want. For example, if they wake up in a bad mood, they will try to attribute it to you. In turn, they get you to pity them and try to make up to them.

In Conclusion – Why Is It Important To Know A Somatic Narcissist?

A somatic narcissist can make you lose your self-esteem since they always try to point out your physical flaws. Their craving for approval can leave you scarred emotionally. It is how they make themselves look superior. Yet their appeal is never skin-deep. Hence, by understanding the somatic narcissist, you can come up with ways to protect yourself from getting hurt. For example, take your time to know the person before committing to a serious sexual relationship. Plus, it would help if you insisted on treating one another fairly.

Been Told You’re Too Shy? You Might Be an Introverted Empath

Published

on

Introverted empath image

In general, empaths handle everyday challenges in different ways. They internalize both the negative and positive vibes around them as their own. While it is hectic to live as an introverted empath, did you know that most of the empaths are indeed introverts? Yes, the virtues that empaths portray go hand in hand with introverts. Still, we have plenty of empaths who are extroverts. Then, how can you know if you are an introverted empath? Here are the telltale signs!

8 Sighs You Might Be an Introverted Empath

#1: They Lack Social Skills

social skills image

An empath who is an introvert is often said to be shy. In real sense, it is an absence of necessary social skills. Think about it. If you are an empath, how many times does an opportunity present itself to interact with others? Do you tend to withdraw to a comfort zone away from the crowds? Then, you could be an introverted empath.

For example, most introverted empaths will find it challenging to go on dates. They get anxious thinking of what the other person will say or think about them. And, if in a relationship, they struggle to express their romantic feelings. Other social skills lacking in introverted empaths include the inability to solve conflicts and poor listening skills.

#2: They Prefer A Solitude Lifestyle

An introverted empath prefers to be alone most times. They struggle to fit into the pre-set social norms. Even so, interacting in social gatherings feels like living a lie. For example, do you know of persons who always complain that they are lonely? Yet, given a chance, they ignore anyone trying to befriend them?

They always feel crowded. The constant interaction with others overwhelms them. Hence, if you find yourself feeling out of place or always faking a lifestyle to fit into other’s expectations, you could be an introverted empath.

#3: They Avoid Being the Center of Attention

introvert image

Are you an empath who dreads networking? Would you avoid any opportunity that will put you in the spotlight? It could be you are an introverted empath who finds it impossible to fake a friendship. Such networking sessions demand that you make small talk and be friendly to all. It gets complicated when the empath’s intuition urges him/her to stay away from certain toxic persons.

An introverted empath in a leadership position must come up with ways to cope. That is, the empath should minimize the time spent in meetings and social gatherings. Also, a daily meditation routine will help overcome the anxiety of being the center of attention.

#4: They Never Offer Help

Here is the thing: an introverted empath will feel the pain and suffering of those around him. More so, he wants to help them feel better. But this kind of empath will never offer help unless you ask for it. Yes, to them, they feel like trespassing when they get involved in other people’s lives. In contrast, they need help to help others.

What can you do to help those in need when you are an introverted empath? Try and visualize the impact of your help to the needy person. As you debate whether to help or not, keep the self-talk positive. Then, practice getting out of your comfort zone.

#5: Crowds and Noise Are Too Suffocating

crowds image

Most introverted empaths hate being in shopping malls, open markets, beaches, or concerts. Such areas are draining to them. In turn, they often have to look for a quiet place to recharge their energies. For example, a simple ride in a public bus feels like an eternity to this empath. Yet, if you ask them why they think this way, they can’t explain it. It is the same case when in a place with strange odors.

#6: They Rarely Talk

Introverted empaths are quiet persons. Yet, their minds are exploding with conversations they would want to have with those around them. Even when they choose to speak, they find it hard to say precisely what’s on their minds.

And, replying to others in conversations is a battle of choosing the right words to appear relevant. In turn, such persons hardly engage in small talks.

Researchers say that introverted empath’s solitude lifestyle contributes to him not able to hold small talks. They fear being judged or misinterpreted by others. Hence, most times, such a person is the observer in the group.

#7: Obsession with Self-Improvement

introverted empath signs image

Usually, an empath knows that his surrounding affects his emotions more like a curse than a blessing. Hence, being an introvert, he will try to make sure he makes the right decisions that are good for him. An introverted empath feels like perfection is an illusion that is too high to achieve.

It is this obsession to be right that makes an introverted empath always to want to improve himself. Only that, he seeks self-improvement so that he can please the other person, not for his benefit.

#8: They Are Their Worst Enemies

Now, when you sum up how an introverted empath behaves, his actions hurt him the most. For example, he has conflicting feelings of wanting to help and being too shy to do so. In turn, he moves around feeling guilty for not lending a helping hand.

In addition, the introverted empath will put himself down for his shortcomings. He even questions whether he is a true friend to his close circle. Yet, he assumes all his achievements, some of which are extraordinary.

Final Note: How Can You Thrive as An Introverted Empath?

Do the above telltale signs describe your personality? Then, you must find ways to live a healthy and fulfilling life in this fast-paced society. Do you struggle with anxiety and depression? Instead of wallowing in an addiction, seek help. Professional counselors and psychologists can assist you to overcome your self-doubt.

Does your introvert nature attract narcissists and energy vampires? Learn how to identify one. These toxic people take advantage of an empath’s vulnerable state to benefit themselves.

Finally, is your self-care routine all about those around you? It is time to heal yourself! Know that you can only be helpful to others when your mind and body are healthy.
