Think Twice Before Becoming a Reiki Master

Published

Reiki Master Cosmos Image

When I started my Reiki path, I didn’t know much about this system. I was 14 years old. My mom took me to my first class of Reiki. That was a very mysterious experience for me. When I saw my Reiki Master for the very first time I was amazed by the way she looked. It seemed like she was glowing from the inside, like an angel.

In the first lesson, she did not initiate me but only introduced me to the basic principles of Reiki and shared inspiring stories about Reiki. This is how I learned that by practicing Reiki, you’re opening the invisible door into a space of limitless possibilities. My first Reiki Master inspired me so much that I realized that Reiki is my path.

Years later, I became a Reiki Master and began to pursue initiation. But I will always remember that it was my first Reiki Master who inspired me to become who I am now.

I decided to write this article because lately, I’ve been increasingly noticing that people stopped taking Reiki seriously. I see a lot of online offers, where Reiki Masters are offering the full Reiki course for 2 days. This is how you can become a Master by simply paying for the course and getting all the initiations in just 2 days. You would think such offers would cause caution and mistrust. But, unfortunately, many people are more concerned about obtaining certificates than real knowledge and skills. That is why you can meet lots of Reiki Masters who don’t really understand what Reiki is and how it works. These kinds of Masters often can’t even feel the energy, and can only imitate the initiation.

So, today I will tell you the path a real Reiki Master must take.

My path becoming a Reiki Master

My path of becoming a Reiki Master Teacher took 15 years. In 1999 I received initiation into the first Reiki degree. I’ve been practicing healing sessions every day, but I wasn’t able to feel the energy at all. For the first time, I could feel the tingling sensation in the palm area only after a few years of regular practice.

8 years after the first-degree initiation and practicing every day, I received the initiation to the second Reiki degree. After that, I began to feel the flow of energy much stronger. Reiki Sessions started to be accompanied by memories from past lives, visions, waking up my intuitive abilities. Reiki helped me not only improve my health but also successfully pass exams at the University and even get my desired job. I used Reiki symbols every day, which led me to start feeling a lot of energy from each of them. I learned to see these symbols in space and use them not only for the sake of my Highest Good but also for the Highest Good of all human beings and planet Earth.

After 6 years, I felt that I was ready to become a Reiki Master. To be exact it was the Master Healer level. Taking this step literally opened up a new world for me. Once I started practicing Reiki with the Master symbol, I learned to go into trance in a matter of seconds. It was incredible! I entered the trance through the Reiki energy flow and after 30 minutes returned to the daily reality absolutely rested, radiant and full of vitality.

A year after my Master Healer initiation, I made the decision to become a Reiki Master Teacher. I made this decision when people started asking me to teach them the sacred practices of Reiki that were so obviously transforming my life. Becoming a Reiki Master Teacher wasn’t my choice, it was a sign from Above. So I realized that you should only become a Master Teacher when you reach the point when people start asking you to become their teacher. This is how I became a Reiki Master Teacher.

Becoming a Reiki Master: The Traditional Path

In traditional Reiki schools (for example, Usui Shiki Ryoho) Masters accept a limited number of students and usually teach them individually. This approach is based on the fact that the one who aspires to become a teacher must have deep Reiki knowledge obtained through extensive Reiki practice.

Reiki Master Teachers should be mature and responsible for the spiritual development and for life in general. After all, the main role of Reiki Master Teacher – to guide students along the path in which they also have to find the same level of maturity and responsibility. Therefore, students must prove to the Master the appropriate abilities.

In addition, the contenders for the title of Reiki Master must also possess certain Reiki skills. The Master Teacher should not give a Master initiation if he is not sure that the student is ready and really needs it.

The process of becoming a Reiki Master usually takes one year. During this time the student helps the Master to teach the first and second Reiki degrees, organizes Reiki groups and does some administrative work. It’s like an apprenticeship, during which he learns to teach.

The new path of the modern Reiki Masters

There are three main differences between traditional and modern Reiki paths:
1) Modern Masters don’t select students as carefully;
2) the training may not take more than 1 day;
3) the cost of the training is much lower.

Usually, the quality of knowledge that you get for modern Masters is very poor. I have met many people who became Masters in 1 day. Many of them know very little about Reiki, the principles, and the rules of performing even basic healing sessions. How do they initiate their students? What is the quality of the Reiki initiations they give? We can only guess. For example, many Masters of the new path, don’t remove their metal jewelry or the client’s jewelry during healing sessions and initiations, which can have a very negative effect on the healing. This makes me question the quality of their entire practice.

What do you need to know before you become a Reiki Master?

First, get ready for the fact that your whole life will change. Reiki will not be just one element of your spiritual life anymore but it will become your entire life. Being a Reiki Master is not just a job, but a calling. Not only will you teach and initiate, but you will also help students on their spiritual path.

Secondly, before becoming a Reiki Master you should make Reiki sessions your daily practice. You should do daily healing sessions for yourself and for others. Also, don’t forget to practice daily meditations. Meditate on Reiki symbols and mantras. This will help you to make a stronger connection with them.

Third, learn to understand the physical aspect of energy. For this purpose, it is recommended to practice yoga or qigong regularly.

Fourthly, start to study various philosophical and religious teachings. This will help you to see the connection between different belief systems.

Fifth, read books about alternative ways of healing. This will allow you to explore different diseases and ways to treat them.

The Bottom Line

In conclusion, I want to advise you not to hurry with getting your Reiki Master initiation. Ask yourself, “Why do I want to become a Reiki Master? Does this desire have anything to do with my ego? Do I have the intention to turn the initiation of Reiki into a business?”. Answer these questions honestly. Take your time.

Keep in mind that getting initiated to a Reiki Master is not the final destination, but only the beginning of the journey!

Gayatri Mantra Practice For Connecting With the Cosmic Consciousness

Published

on

gayatri mantra image

Gayatri mantra is one of the most powerful Vedic sacred formulas. The impossible can be achieved by using the Gayatri mantra, which purifies the soul and body, and leads to rescue. What does Gayatri mantra mean? What is its sacred meaning and benefits? How do you practice it? In this article, I’ll answer these and many other questions about this mantra.

Gayatri Mantra Is a Great Tool For Karma Purification

Karma is a sequential series of events arising from the actions committed by a person but how can you protect yourself from the negative influence of karma? The solution is the Gayatri mantra!

It is believed that with the daily practice of Gayatri mantra you can get rid of the rebirth circle and remove yourself from the wheel of Samsara.

What does the liberation from rebirth provide to us? According to the Vedas, we find ourselves in a completely different world from the earthly one. Gayatri mantra is so powerful that the practitioner affects the reality in the way that all objects and space around him become purified.

During the practice of Gayatri mantra, you can refer directly to the goddess Gayatri, who is the wife of Brahma. This mantra is chanted in Sanskrit, the sacred language of the Vedas. You cannot perform this mantra in any other languages (translated) since the rhythm of sacred sounds would be lost.

Who Is Gayatri?

Goddess Gayatri Image

Gayatri is the Mother of the Vedas, who is present everywhere where Her mantra is practiced. The vibrations of Gayatri fill the spiritual body of the practitioner, changing and enlightening it. Gayatri enlightens and opens the spiritual mind and shows the path to the divine truth and bliss. This is the divine power that gives breath to all that exists and animates it. It is the embodiment of the Divine Power that protects people.

Gayatri has three names that exist in the human soul:

If one reaches harmony in his thoughts (intention), speech and actions, there are three types of divine energy that live within him — Gayatri, Sarasvati, and Savitri.

The Gayatri mantra consists of three parts:

  • deity worship;
  • meditation;
  • prayer.

The initial words of the Holy text refer to the worship of the divine. The word “dhīmahi” denotes a meditative state. The remaining 4 words express a prayerful appeal to God with a request for the gift of spiritual abilities and insight.

The constant practice of Gayatri mantra brings concrete results:

  • getting rid of ailments;
  • protection from evil and troubles;
  • dreams come true;
  • the awakening of the spiritual mind.

If you practice Gayatri with faith, you can get all the spiritual and physical benefits.

Gayatri Mantra Practice

How Do You Start Gayatri Mantra practice?

To properly pronounce the mantra, you must first listen to the recording, for example, performed by Deva Premal. The performance of this dedicated European woman fills the soul with bliss emanating from heaven. The first time you can just listen to the recording and feel how the sounds touch your body and soul. Then try to repeat this mantra together with the singer. By doing this, be aware of the meaning of every sacred syllable.

It is the best to chant the mantra in the Lotus position with a straight spine. You cannot sit or stand with your back bent, because it is through the spine that the divine energy flows through the top of the head from the Universe. Watch your spine always, because it is the root of life. A straight back is a guarantee of physical and spiritual health!

At first, try to practice alone, without any interference. Criticism of others or their curiosity will have a negative impact on the results of your practice. You can listen with headphones and repeat the words in your mind. However, when it is spoken aloud that mantra will have the greatest effect — vibrations in the body connect it with cosmic energy. In this case, the physical body becomes a receiver of divine energies.

Repetition in the mind also has its positive effect, but if you need healing you should consider chanting the mantra aloud. If you decided to start your Gayatri mantra practice with listening then imagine how sacred sounds penetrate into every cell of your body and heal it while listening. Try not to be distracted during this meditation.

What time is the best for Gayatri mantra practice?

Rumi Quotes On Inner Peace Image

The best time to practice is considered to be the transition hours — sunrise, noon, sunset. These hours are considered to be the most favorable for spiritual practice and meditation. However, you can chant this mantra at any time, but during these particular hours, it is possible to achieve a greater effect.

An important rule for the proper Gayatri mantra practice is pure heart and mind. It is unacceptable to treat Gayatri frivolously, it is necessary to feel the sanctity of each pronounced syllable. The practitioner should eschew evil, not to participate in evil deeds and to help others. Moreover, if you started Gayatri mantra practice you cannot use profanity, say bad words, swear, and quarrel anymore. It is necessary to strive for purity in everything – thoughts, words, and actions.

Yoga is advised to practice Gayatri mantra during water cleansing – in the shower or during bath rituals. The power of water together with the purifying power of the mantra will free your body and mind from all impure. Also, you can practice the mantra before going to bed, after waking up and before eating. After finishing Gayatri mantra chanting pronounce the word “Shanti” 3 times.

Pay attention! Incorrect Gayatri mantra practice will lead to the opposite result!

The more you repeat the sacred words, the more benefits you will attract into your life.

What else do you need to know for the proper Gayatri mantra practice?

It is necessary to free your mind from vain thoughts and concentrate on the area of the third eye. During this practice, you should forget about the surrounding reality for a while and immerse yourself in the sound of sacred sounds that connect you with the Cosmic Consciousness.

How many times should you chant Gayatri mantra?

It is necessary to devote to Gayatri mantra practice every morning, repeating the mantra 108 times. The rest of the time you can chant this mantra 3, 12, or 27 times.

The Gift of Giving: Benefits of Generosity

Published

on

Gift of time image

Tis the season for Gift Giving! What are the true benefits of giving? In what place do you give from? Why do you give? How does giving serve you and the ones you give to? What comes from a generous heart? In this article, I’m going to share with you what may come as a surprise, the benefits of generosity and what exactly is in the gift of giving.

Around holidays, birthdays, and celebrations we tend to give more, or we are encouraged to give gifts around these specific times. Do we really take the time to examine why we are giving and what intentions we have in our giving?

It’s important to develop and create a generous heart with no obligations or expectations of return.

Giving Just Because

wrapping christmas presents image

One of the main reasons to give should be because your heart desires to. Think of giving not as a duty but as a privilege.
Giving out of obligation, giving to serve the ego, giving to get something in return or giving just because it’s the holidays will not be rewarding and will not carry the same heart resonance as giving just because your heart wants to give from a place with zero expectations or obligations.

The holidays can become stressful and financially unmanageable when you are pressuring yourself to give during these specific times. We tend to look for gifts during these periods and then it becomes obligatory in nature and this can remove the pleasure that comes with giving freely from the heart.

Giving when you are prompted from your heart, versus because there’s simply a holiday present, will always be more rewarding.
It removes the pressures of only giving during the holidays and spreads cheer year around. Many of us give during these specific times because we feel like we should because it seems most everyone else is giving during these times and because socially it’s the “thing” to do and what is expected or appropriate in our society.

I encourage you to give all year around for no reason at all other than your heart’s desire. Maybe a friend or a relative is going through a tough period and you want to lift their spirits, this is a great time to activate your generosity and send a small token or handwritten note to express your sentiments. Giving as a surprise just because you appreciate others meaningful presence in your life. When people aren’t expecting gifts and they show up “just because” the joy is usually immense from the recipient.

Small gestures go a long way. The gift of giving is the gift.

Generosity Enhances Your Life On Many Levels

gift giving

You will receive an upwelling of joy and warmth that is bestowed upon the recipient when you give. The magic is reciprocated by the spirit of generosity.

It feels enriching to give. When you give you are opening your own portals to receive. When you hold, begrudge and constrict you block your own blessings and gifts of reciprocity. The more generous and giving your heart is the more space you allow for universal gifts to flow into your own life.

Giving from your heart increases your well being, transmutes stress and in turn boosts your immune system. Feeling the excitement and love that others feel from receiving your beautiful intentions and heartfelt expressions cause a multitude of chain reactions throughout your entire being. On a cellular, physical and spiritual level we are being activated in a positive energetic way. The world needs more generosity, we thrive on it, whereas greed has the opposite effect, debilitating ourselves.

There Are Many Ways to Give And Be Generous

gift of time image

Many times when we think of gift giving we think of physical things that require financial means, this is not the only way to give. In fact, some of the most precious and heartfelt gifts take little to no money at all. The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.

We all know how valuable time and effort is. We live in a busy world with many demands. This is why freely gifting your time and presence is highly valued.

  • Donating an extra set of hands on a project of giving back to others.
  • Taking the time to listen and be present when others are feeling challenged.
  • Creating handmade cards, crafts, artwork or just handwritten love notes to those you hold near and dear to your heart.
  • Drawing a salt bath with essential oils for a partner, friend or loved one after a long day of work.
  • Asking how you can assist others in their time of need.
  • Offering free childcare to a single mother, father or couple that needs time for themselves.
  • Watering plants, feeding stray hungry animals, giving them shelter and a kind presence.
  • Giving someone a hug with encouragement.
  • Taking time to pray for others well being and success.
  • Holding someone’s hands when they’re afraid.
  • Holding doors open, allowing others to go in front of you in line.
  • Allowing others to be right.
  • Listening with a non-judgmental presence.
  • Listening to hear without having the need to respond.
  • Smiling and acknowledging others presence. Everyone matters.

There are endless opportunities in gift giving. Being creative and recognizing that any action, deed or gesture from the heart small or large is truly a gift.

Don’t Forget to Give to Yourself

self-love relationship

Ultimately by giving to others, you are giving to yourself. How you treat others is a big indicator of how you feel about yourself. Make sure you don’t forget yourself in this equation. Many of us are guilty of primarily gifting others and leaving ourselves out or feeling guilty for giving back to ourselves. You are an important part of the gift-giving circle. Treat yourself with kindness,
compassion, and self-love. Make sure you refuel and restore yourself. Commit to showing up for yourself. Be good to your body. Check in with yourself regularly and make sure you are taking the time to give yourself the gift of cultivating healthy habits that enhance your mind, body, and soul.

The Bottom Line

I hope this article is a reminder that generosity comes in many different forms and that there is no certain right time to give. Most importantly that you should always give from your heart. I’ll leave you with this:

8 Simple Tips On How To Harness the Power Of Your Sacral Chakra

Published

on

sacral chakra healing image

If you are often mistaken in your choice of sexual partners, have difficulty in achieving your goals, have problems with the reproductive functions of your body and sexual life, you find it difficult to achieve success or to make life changes, you doubt your attractiveness, or you have a lack of confidence, then you should consider a Sacral chakra healing. In this article, I’ll share with you simple yet powerful tips on how to harness the power of your Sacral chakra.

This information will be most useful if you:

  • don’t know how to achieve your goals;
  • can’t intuitively feel what kind of person you’re dealing with;
  • are never in the right place or right time;
  • suffer from mood swings, stress or depression;
  • suffer from guilt;
  • do not allow yourself rest;
  • don’t allow yourself to feel pleasure;
  • addicted to sensual pleasures;
  • like idleness;
  • have excess weight and problems with your liver, kidneys, pancreas;
  • suffer from lumbar pain and have problems with the spine.

If you have any of these problems then you have imbalanced Sacral chakra which needs some healing.

The Functions Of the Sacral Chakra

Svadhisthana Chakra Test Image

Svadhisthana (Sacral chakra) is located between the pelvic bones, in the lower abdomen area. Like any other energy center, this chakra is responsible for the health of certain organs and psyche. The color of this chakra is orange.

Sacral Chakra Functions:

  1. responsible for the health of the lymphatic system, kidneys, reproductive system and all organs located in the pelvis;
  2. this is the place of sexual energy concentration;
  3. responsible for the reproductive functions of the body and sexual life;
  4. provides the conception of children and the pleasure of sex (imbalanced Svadhisthana is responsible for infertility, frigidity, impotence);
  5. affects the psycho-emotional state;
  6. responsible for accepting yourself, others, the world, and for any kind of social interaction;
  7. affects the perception of yourself as a person of a certain sex and sexual orientation;
  8. responsible for the choice of sexual partners, sexual desires and emotions that a person experiences in the course of an intimate life;
  9. associated with physical beauty and naturalness;
  10. responsible for the formation of stereotypes imposed by society in the process of socialization and education;
  11. responsible for the manifestation of creative potential;
  12. gives energy for self-expression;
  13. motivates to reach success;
  14. gives the ability to make life changes;
  15. provides energy for achieving goals.

The Formation And Development Of The Sacral Chakra

The Sacral chakra is developed between the ages of 3 to 8 years. At this time, how people treat you is especially important – if your family members express their love, respect and accept you. At this age, it’s also very important to see your parents treating each other with love and respect and having a harmonious and happy family.

Inner Child Image

If a child grows up without love, is exposed to frequent punishment, criticism, and condemnation by parents, his (her) Sacral chakra will be blocked and bring lots of problems into their adult life. The Sacral chakra can also become imbalanced when a child lives in an incomplete family.

Society plays an important role in the development of the sacral chakra. It is our environment in our childhood that affects the quality of our physical intimacy and the type of sexual partners we choose in adult life.

How To Unblock the Sacral Chakra?

Unfortunately, nowadays there are few people with adequate self-esteem. Many of us were criticized as children, some grew up in single-parent families or in an environment where there was no love and happiness. One way or another, most of us damaged our Sacral chakras in our childhood years. Therefore, most of us need to unblock, balance and harmonize our Svadhisthana chakras. Here are some tips on how to do it.

1. Mantra Therapy

Chanting mantras is my favorite way to start chakra balancing. Mantra for Svadhisthana chakra is “VAM”. By chanting or singing this syllable, you’re unblocking your sexual (creative) energy that was blocked in your Sacral chakra. This helps you to heal your emotions, traumas, and guilt, and to open up your creative potential. You can repeat this syllable aloud or in your mind during meditation.

2. Aromatherapy

It’s a very simple and accessible way to balance your Sacral chakra. The best essential oils you can use are Jasmine, sandalwood, rosemary, ylang-ylang, Clary sage, cardamom, and ginger. With the help of essential oils, you can balance the energy emitted by this energy center.

3. Yoga

Yoga is another powerful tool for balancing your Sacral chakra. It’s best to practice dynamic Ashtanga yoga, forward bends, asanas that help the hips open. For more yoga recommendations watch the video below.

4. Meditation

Visualize how a ray of white light descends along your spine to the base and then begins to rise. Stop it at the second chakra, two fingers down from the navel. Imagine how the energy changes its color to orange. Bathe in this color, feel the vitality and energy, and your own magnetism. Experience the awakening of your own sensuality. All five senses have acquired a new life. As you exhale, send magnetic, joyful energy into the world.

5. Crystals

Best crystals for sacral chakra healing are moonstone, carnelian, apricot agate, orange garnet, fire opal, orange sapphire, sardonyx, carnelian, sunstone, aventurine, calcite, fire agate and orange spinel. To heal your Sacral chakra, you can meditate with a crystal, holding it in your hands. You can also wear a ring with one of these crystals on your pinky finger.

6. Food

9 oranges ritual for cleansing of negative energy image

Svadhisthana color is orange. Orange shades symbolize activity, a joy of life, hope and self-confidence. Based on this, our main task is to activate the energy of this chakra. To achieve this goal we can use the food of this color: carrots, pumpkin, pepper, peaches, mangoes, tangerines, oranges. There are also orange spices that have a beneficial effect on this chakra, for example, cumin and turmeric. Therefore, when preparing food, be sure to use these additional ingredients.

You should be aware that all orange food not only helps to develop and maintain the performance of the chakra but also has a beneficial effect on the whole body. For example, orange fruits contain the essential vitamin C. And orange spices and vegetables are able to saturate the body with the necessary antioxidants.

7. Affirmations

Here are some powerful affirmations that can help you to balance your Sacral chakra:

  • I enjoy the abundant living and appreciate what I have.
  • I easily learn all my life lessons and turn them into my advantage.
  • I say “YES” to all my dreams.
  • I’m thrilled with my amazing sexuality! I am very attractive!
  • Each day my life gets better and better.
  • I am in harmony with the whole world.
  • I go through life easily and joyfully.
  • Abundance constantly comes to me so I can relax and enjoy my life.
  • I am a unique and creative person.
  • I love and appreciate myself.
  • I openly express my feelings and emotions.
  • I allow myself to receive all the gifts that the Universe sends me.
  • I allow myself to enjoy my life, to love and be loved!

8. Ritual Baths

Abundance Bath Image

Ritual baths are not only a very effective, but probably one of the most pleasant ways to heal your Sacral chakra. All the details of this magical procedure and all the instructions you can find in my article “Ritual Baths For Chakra Balancing”.

Conclusion

It is very important what you fill your life with, what emotions, people, events and activities prevail in it. If it is mostly negative thoughts, unpleasant environment, and tedious work, then most likely your Sacral chakra healing will take a very long time. If you want to move faster in your healing then consider filling your life with what brings you pleasure. Make sure that everything you do is filled with creativity and joy. Choose wisely who you communicate with. If you noticed that there are people who steal your energy and manipulate you then consider changing your environment! Surround yourself with positive, like-minded people. Distant yourself from energy vampires. In other words, take life easier and don’t forget to enjoy it!

Namaste!
