The Best Feng Shui Kitchen And Dining Room Tips

Published

on

feng shui kitchen tips image

According to Feng Shui, a correctly equipped kitchen is able to ensure the health of your entire family and a dining room is very important for activating wealth and abundance energy of the house. That’s why I want to share with you the most important Feng Shui kitchen and dining room tips for happy and abundant living!

The Location Matters!

First of all, let me tell you that it is very auspicious if you have your kitchen and dining room located correctly.

The ideal location for the dining room is in the center or deep inside the house. You have to understand that the dining room is a “heart” of your house. That’s why when the “heart” is regularly occupied by the whole family, it accumulates abundance energy and creates a harmonious environment. In Feng Shui the act of eating and all food associations symbolize abundance. That’s why it’s considered inauspicious if food is placed sparingly on the dining room table.

It is also not good if the front door is on a straight line with the kitchen door. The adverse energy through the open front door can get into your food, adversely affecting your health.

Unfortunately, during the construction of houses people rarely follow the recommendations of Feng Shui, and often it turns out that the kitchen or toilet occupies the center of the home. From the point of view of Chinese sages, it can bring you a lot of problems. As a result of this incorrect location of the kitchen, your family can suffer from various diseases.

NOTE! Do not confuse the fact that it is good to have a dining room in the center of the house with a kitchen,  it’s extremely inauspicious to have a kitchen there!

It is also not desirable that the kitchen is located in front of the toilet or in front of the bedroom.

Feng Shui Kitchen Tips For Your Family’s Well-Being And Health

  • The kitchen should always be maintained for maximum cleanliness and regular ventilation carried out.
  • When choosing furniture for the kitchen, try to avoid the models of cabinets, tables, and chairs with sharp corners.
  • Make sure your kitchen has sufficient lighting.
  • Do not try to energize your kitchen with mirrors.
  • Take the trash out every day before 8 p.m.
  • Wash dishes right after finishing your meal. A kitchen with dirty dishes can’t have good Feng Shui!

Special Tips For The Stove

Another important factor for happiness, success, and abundance is the correct installation of the stove.

  • It is not recommended to install it in front of the door, away from the wall or near the glass.
  • If the stove is located under the ceiling beam, it can attract a variety of diseases to the household, and especially to the owner of the house.
  • Keep your stove away from the direct sunlight rays.
  • Do not install the stove next to or directly opposite to the sink or refrigerator. Otherwise, Water element (sink/refrigerator) and Fire element (stove) will be in opposition to each other, which can also affect the health of the family members.
  • The stove must be located at least one foot away from the sink.
  • The stove shouldn’t be located in the Northwest sector of the kitchen. This location is called “Fire at Heaven’s Gate”. It brings bad luck to the breadwinner causing the head of the family to lose the job and money.
  • The stove should not face the main door or bedrooms doors.
  • The stove should not be placed directly under the toilet located on the floor above.
  • The stove should not face a toilet door.
  • The stove should always be perfectly clean. Make sure you’re cleaning it every time after cooking.

Special Tips For The Fridge

The fridge can become a magnet for abundance if you will follow these simple Feng Shui tips.

  • Keep your fridge clean inside and outside.
  • Make sure to throw away all unfresh food.
  • Make sure your fridge is always full of fresh and healthy food.
  • It’s good to always keep an unopened bottle of expensive champagne there. This will send the Universe a message that you’re ready to celebrate your success and ready for happy surprises.
  • Every new year place on the bottom portion of your fridge 3 Chinese Feng Shui coins tied with a red string. It is a symbol of always having enough money for food. Change the coins every new year.

Feng Shui Dining Room Tips For Attracting Wealth And Abundance

feng shui dining room image

  • First of all, take a look at the shape of your dining room table. According to Feng Shui, the ideal shapes for it are round, rectangular, and 8-sided shaped.
  • Dining room table should not be placed directly below the toilet located on the floor above, nor should there be anything heavy like a piano or a large cabinet pressing down on the dining room area.
  • Do not place a clock in your dining room as this symbolizes the end of abundance.
  • Place a large mirror on the wall of your dining room so by reflecting the food on the table it doubles your abundance.
  • Hang a chandelier in the center above the dining table.
  • Display a bouquet of fresh flowers on your table.
  • Place the three star gods Fuk Luk Sau in your dining room to bring health and prosperity to your family.

7 Feng Shui Bathroom Tips, Taboos, And Cures

Published

on

Feng Shui Bathroom Tips Image

Usually, not much thought is given to bathrooms, especially when it comes to Feng Shui as they are thought of as “taboo” areas of the home. However, it is in the toilet that the greatest amount of negative energy accumulates. Therefore, it is important to protect the home from the destructive force and equip the bathroom according to Feng Shui bathroom tips.

Some Feng Shui masters suggest making the bathroom as small as possible, keeping it out of sight, and even away from the main house. I do not support such extremes! In this article, I want to share with you the adjusted (for modern living) Feng Shui bathroom tips, taboos, and cures.

The Bathroom And Sha Chi

The theory of Feng Shui is based on one important rule: when Chi is entering the house it should be dispersed throughout the rooms without obstacles. This harmonious Chi flow is very important for maintaining harmony and peace in the house, attracting prosperity and health.

Chi does not like it when the house is messy when there is a lot of junk. Such an environment can disrupt its circulation and turn vital energy into a negative force that leads to relationship problems, money loss, diseases, and all kinds of troubles.

The bathroom is the most vulnerable place for Sha Chi energy.

Sha Chi, or “killing Chi”, is the Chi that has low Feng Shui energy vibes. It originates from negative surroundings and can cause various detrimental effects. It brings misery and disease.

Often Sha is formed in places where it is dark and dusty. Such energy is carried by withered flowers, garbage and old things, dirty dishes, and cobwebs. It is associated with bad odors, called Sha-odors, which often accumulate in the toilet room.

Sha is able to get into the toilet and toilet tank. It is able to go through different holes and disappear together with the drafts through the window.

When flushing water, a large amount of energy is destroyed, and with it, well-being. However, this will not affect the Feng Shui of your house if you follow the 7 Feng Shui bathroom tips described below!

7 Feng Shui Bathroom Tips

Now let me share with you how to Feng Shui your bathroom so it doesn’t affect the energy of the entire house in a bad way.

Feng Shui Bathroom ideas Image

Tip #1: Make sure that your bathroom is not located in the Northwest or Southwest sector of your house

The first and most important thing you should watch out is where your bathroom is located. Check out what sector it occupies by using the Bagua map.

Make sure that your bathroom is not located in the Northwest or Southwest sector of your house! The Northwest represents the Patriarch and a toilet here flushes down his luck. Similarly with the Southwest sector that represents the Matriarch.

The element of Northwest is Metal. In the bathroom the dominant element is Water. Now ask yourself: how does Water affect Metal? That’s right – water covers metal with rust! That can’t be good for Feng Shui of your house, right? In addition, the drains in the bathroom are the place through which the energy leaves the house.

This situation has a tangible impact on a man – he has no energy, no power, it’s hard for him to support his family and express his masculinity. If a man is inherently weak, he will continue to live in such a house, staying on the sidelines. But if his nature is strong, he will leave such a house sooner or later.

The Southwest bathroom weakens the hostess of the house, disconnects her from the partner and family. According to statistics, a very large percentage of single women have a Southwest toilet.

It’s also bad for business because it leads to an inability to establish good partnerships. And if a businesswoman has such a bathroom the problem doubles.

If you already live in a house with a bathroom in the Northwest or Southwest sector, and you cannot change the layout of rooms, then at least spend a bit of money to make sure the toilet bowl itself is not located in the Northwest or Southwest of the bathroom.

Tip #2: Avoid golden bathtubs and toilets!

Golden Bathtub Image

To have a golden bathtub or even a toilet is not just vulgar, it is very bad Feng Shui. It doesn’t even have to be real gold for it to bring bad luck, because tubs wash things away, and when you line your tubs with gold, you symbolically flush or drain away your money luck every time you use your tub.

It’s better to go for regular stainless steel tubs, and regular materials like ceramic, plastic, or Perspex toilet seats.

Tip #3: Do not locate your toilet above the main door

This is a major taboo!

Your main door sector is your most important sector of all! Therefore you should always check for this taboo before putting down that down-payment for your new dream house.

If you already live in such a house and have been suffering a bit of bad luck after moving in, it is so worth your while to spend the money to make some changes – either to the location of your bathroom or to your main door. This configuration is one of the most dangerous ones!

Tip #4: Make sure the toilets do not share walls with beds

When designing your bathroom, make sure your toilet does not share a wall with your bed. It’s OK to have the bedroom right next to the bathroom. But just make sure that something less inauspicious shares the other side of your bed wall. Like a mirror, or sink, or bathtub.

Tip #5: The bathroom can be big, but the toilet should be small

The taboo associated with bathrooms is usually specifically confined to the toilet bowl, so if you have a beautiful big spa-like bathroom, it is OK. Just remember to keep the actual toilet small. It is better to confine the toilet in a small room within the bathroom. And make sure you keep the door to your toilet closed at all times when not in use.

Tip #6: Choose the right color scheme

Bathroom design Image

Feng Shui colors can be divided into two groups: yin and yang. When decorating your bathroom, make sure you’re not making it too yin with colors.

Bedrooms are good when slightly more yin than yang, as bedrooms are where you’re meant to relax and sleep. Bathrooms, although they’re meant for relaxing, are also where you scrub and cleanse yourself, so it should be a touch more yang than yin.

So go for colors that are bright rather than dark. Whites, creams, and pastels work a lot better for bathrooms than blacks, maroons, or khakis.

If you go for a dark color, make sure the walls contrast nicely by painting them a complimentary light color. As long as you have balance, and the balance is tipped in favor of yang, you should achieve a good color scheme.

Tip #7: Choose the proper decor and decorations

To adjust the flow of energy, you need to properly decorate your bathroom. The decorations in the bathroom should show the essence of the Water element. It’s OK to have pictures of:

  • the ocean;
  • sea;
  • lake;
  • waterfall;
  • boat;
  • beach;
  • snow;
  • ice.

It is forbidden to hang images of the sun, its rays, sunset, dawn, desert, and landscapes in the bathroom. All of them belong to the element of Fire, which contradicts the Water element.

The main thing is to avoid dark, yellow, and orange tones.

Feng Shui Bathroom Taboos

Feng Shui Toilet Tips Image

According to the Feng Shui rules, you should always avoid:

  • Broken plumbing – leads to money loss;
  • Leaking out the water of the drain tank – leads to financial loss;
  • Open toilet lid – leads to the spread of negative energy from the toilet into the living space;
  • Dirty floors, garbage – create destructive energy;
  • Dirt in ventilation grilles;
  • Bad smell.

It is important to keep the bathroom clean for the wellbeing of all family members.

The Bottom Line

Sometimes the house itself can be clean and cozy, and the decorations and talismans can be arranged in accordance with the the Feng Shui rules. However, people who live in it may still get depressed, face financial difficulties, and constantly quarrel. If this is your case, you should pay attention to where your bathroom is located. This can help you find the cause of the trouble and a way out of the situation.

I hope the above tips will be helpful for you and serve as a tool for creating good Feng Shui in your home!

7 Easy Feng Shui Tips For Your Front Door

Published

on

Feng Shui Tips For Your Front Door Image

The Feng Shui for your front door is probably the most crucial aspect of your overall Feng Shui. Your front door is the mouth of your house – it is where positive or negative chi enters your house. There are many taboos in the Feng Shui practice related to the positioning, size, color, and other characteristics of the front door. If you are new to Feng Shui practice, it can be quite confusing. Therefore, I came up with these 7 easy tips to help you create an auspicious Feng Shui for your front door!

7 Feng Shui Tips For Your Front Door

#1: Opening

The main Feng Shui rule for the front door is that it should open inwards into a wide space rather than a cramped narrow corridor. It is also important to make sure that there is an open space on the outside of the main door, known as a bright hall.

If your front door doesn’t match these recommendations, I’ve got some cures for you:

  1. If your front door opens outwards, change the position of the hinges.
  2. If the inside foyer space is too small, hang a bright light above the door. Make sure you keep the light turned on for at least 3 hours each day.
  3. To visually enlarge the foyer space, you can use a mirror. But make sure you position it in a such way that it does not directly face the door.

#2: Size

Front Door Size Image

The size of the front door does matter!

The front door should never be too small or too large in proportion to the whole house. But it should be the grandest looking door in the house. If you live in an apartment, use the size and height of the living room as a guide.

Keep in mind that a door that is too small is most inauspicious. You see, good fortune just cannot enter your home!

A door that is too large in proportion to the room will cause the family to lose all their good fortune. This also means that the ceilings should not be too low.

#3: Material

Front door Feng Shui Image

Your front door should be made of solid material like wood or some other strong and durable material. It should never be made of clear or opaque glass as this means fragility and offers no protection for the house or to the family that lives in it.

#4: Color

An auspicious color of your front door depends on its direction.

If the direction of your front door is South, then choose red color.

If you have a North door, the most auspicious colors would be dark blue or black.

For East and Southeast doors, choose natural wood color.

West and Northwest doors will benefit from ochre or yellow colors.

If you have a Southwest or Northeast door, it is best to choose white color.

Front Door Feng Shui Tips Image

#5: Placement

Good front door placements always open to some space. When the entrance is cramped either inside or outside the door, the Feng Shui is adversely affected. The front door should never be hit by any configuration, arrangement, or structure which blocks the flow of traffic inwards.

Pay attention to what lies above the main door. If an upstairs toilet is located above the entrance to your house, it makes your front door extremely inauspicious. Any exposed overhead beam is most inauspicious facing the front door. Ceiling designs that have sharp corners and edges are not recommended above the entrance foyer.

Also, make sure not place another door beside the main door as this would confuse the energy trying to enter your house.

To increase yang energy entering the house, place a chandelier inside the main door.

#6: Overcome Poison Arrows

Feng Shui Poison Arrows Image

Sha Chi, also referred to as feng shui poison arrows, is attacking energy that comes from sharp angles pointed at your front door. Poison arrows can weaken the energy of your house, and destroy the health, peace, and well-being of the entire family. Therefore, it is very important to overcome all the poison arrows!

There are many different structures that can harm the main door. To determine if there are any poison arrows hurting your front door, stand at the front door and face out. Make sure you don’t see the following features:

  • triangle roof line from the opposite neighbor house;
  • edge of a building;
  • lamp post;
  • high rise tower;
  • steps leading up and down;
  • cemetery.

Also, keep in mind that your front door can be harmed by the features inside the house. To determine if you have any such harmful features, stand at the main door looking inside the house. Make sure you don’t see the following features:

  • staircase;
  • spiral staircase;
  • pillar;
  • wall mirror;
  • bathroom door;
  • wall edge.

Also, it is considered extremely inauspicious when the front door is facing:

  • three doors in a raw;
  • a long corridor;
  • the kitchen door.

How To Overcome The Poison Arrow?

To overcome the poison arrow we are going to use the destructive or the exhaustive cycle of the 5 elements. For doing this, you need to check a compass to find what direction the poison arrow is coming from. Here are some helpful Feng Shui tips for your front door on how to overcome the poison arrows.

If the poison arrow is coming from the South, then you need to use the Water or Earth element to destroy its negative influence. For example, you can display a fountain or a crystal.

If the poison arrow is coming from the North, then use the Earth or Wood element to destroy its negative energy. For example, you can display a crystal or a plant.

If the poison arrow is coming from the East or Southeast, you need to use the Metal or Fire element to overcome it. It would be very beneficial to hang a windchime and use more light.

If the poison arrow is coming from the West or Northwest, use the power of the Fire or Water element. It’s beneficial to install bright lights or place a fountain here.

If the poison arrow is coming from the Southwest or Northeast direction, then use the Wood or Metal element. For example, you can place a plant here or hang a wind chime.

#7: Enhance Your Front Door

When you overcome all the poison arrows, it’s time to enhance your front door! By displaying a good fortune symbol next to your front door you will activate the auspicious chi. Here are some Feng Shui tips on how to do it:

  • Bury three Chinese coins, tied together with red thread, under the ground, just inside the entrance to the house. If you cannot bury the coins, then place them on the floor next to the front door and cover them with a rug.
  • Hang a painting or a photograph of a hundred birds near the front door to attract happiness and auspiciousness to the house. A hundred birds symbolize a hundred lucky opportunities coming your way.
  • Place a fountain somewhere near the front door directly in front, either outside or inside. This will raise yang energy and attract good fortune to your house.
  • Display a pair of Fu Dogs flanking the main door to protect your house against negative energy.
  • Altars that directly face either the main door or the door into the living room or family room are deemed to be auspicious. Such an altar will attract positive energy to the house!
