Matter does not arise and does not perish, it changes its form. For this reason, death is a change or transformation. Kali is the goddess of such changes, which are absolutely necessary for the renewal of energy and spiritual development. Attachment to material form causes fear of death. This is a fundamental fear, the roots of which lie in the brain stem. Such fear is the main obstacle on the way to spiritual development. Goddess Kali frees us from the fear of death. Goddess Kali may seem cruel to ignorant people that still have attachments to their physical bodies, but to the ones who released themselves from such attachments, She manifests Herself as the Divine Mother.

Powerful Vajrasattva Mantra For Spiritual Evolution

Published

on

Vajrasattva mantra image

Vajrasattva mantra is one of the most effective and popular mantras in Tibet and India. It contains a perfect combination of sacred sounds, grouped in a hundred syllables. This mantra has a powerful effect on the subtle bodies and provokes giant changes on the physical plane.

In this article, I will share with you how to practice this powerful mantra properly so you can improve your life and take your spiritual development to the next level!

Vajrasattva In Buddhism And Hinduism

Vajrasattva is a cosmic Buddha, the embodiment of purity. This image in Buddhism symbolizes sincerity, sinlessness, and freshness.

Vajrasattva is depicted as a royal celestial Buddha, wearing a crown studded with jewels and with an aura of five colored lights – red, blue, white, green, and yellow – around his head This signifies the union of the five Dhyani Tathagatas, so Vajrasattva embodies all of their combined wisdom.

In his right hand, he holds a vajra (thunderbolt) – a symbol of steadfastness and compassion. With his left hand, Vajrasattva holds a silver bell – a symbol of spirituality and wisdom. The two symbols of Vajrasattva – the thunderbolt and the bell – are like the yin and yang of the enlightenment experience; the union of compassion and emptiness.

Vajrasattva Mantra Benefits

This mantra is also called “100-syllable mantra”. It has been known since ancient times. Vajrasattva mantra was used by Buddhist monks to cleanse their souls of sins, heal karma and move to a new level of perception. The power of this mantra is so great that it can even heal the karma from past incarnations.

Through the 100-syllable mantra practice you can achieve the following results:

  • get rid of chronic diseases;
  • alleviate the emotional suffering;
  • get rid of immoral thoughts;
  • calm down;
  • achieve enlightenment;
  • get rid of the mental blocks – anger, envy, jealousy;
  • understand your purpose and mission;
  • cleanse yourself from the black magic influence;
  • heal your karma;
  • reach clarity of your mind and memory;
  • increase in your intuition;
  • improve your health.

However, you can experience the benefits of this mantra only if you sincerely want to get rid of your own negativity, and if you are committed to the attainment of wisdom and enlightenment. Without a sincere, pure heart, spiritual evolution is impossible.

The Text of the 100-syllable Mantra

The following 100-syllable mantra should be recited 21 times:

om vajrasattva samaya manu palaya
vajrasattva denopa tita, dido may bhawa,
suto kayo may bhawa, supo kayo may bhawa
anu rakto may bhawa
sarva siddhi may prayatsa,
sarwa karma su tsa may
tsitam shriyam kuru hum,
ha ha ha ha ho
bhagawan – sarwa tatagata,
vajra ma may muntsa
vajra bhawa, maha samaya sattva
ah hum pey

When there is not enough time, you can chant a short version of this mantra:

Om Vajrasattva Hum

A short version should be recited 28 times.

The Meaning of Vajrasattva Mantra

Oṃ Vajrasattva! Preserve the bond!
As Vajrasattva stand before me.
Be firm for me.
Be greatly pleased for me.
Deeply nourish me.
Love me passionately.
Grant me siddhi in all things,
And in all actions make my mind most excellent.
Blessed One! Vajra of all the Tathāgatas! Do not abandon me.
Be the Vajra-bearer, Being of the Great Bond!

Note: This is not a literal translation of the individual Sanskrit words of the mantra.

How to Practice Vajrasattva Mantra?

You can listen to the recording of this mantra, sing it or chant it.

For making your mantra practice more effective and powerful, you need to take a cleansing shower or bath, light the sandalwood or lotus incense, and get into a meditative state. Incense will help your astral body to adjust to the perception of transcendental vibrations.

At the beginning of the practice, you can just listen to the words in the recording, then try to repeat aloud.

When learning the text of the mantra, chant it along with the record. Further, try to practice the mantra on your own, using rosary beads.

While chanting the mantra you need to visualize Vajrasattva.

Vajrasattva Visualisation

For practicing Vajrasattva visualization, you need to imagine Vajrasattva seated on an open white lotus on a Moon disk above his head. He is white, translucent, and adorned with beautiful ornaments and clothes.

His right hand holds a vajra which symbolizes great bliss. His left hand holds a bell which symbolizes the wisdom of emptiness. These two attributes signify his attainment of the unified state of enlightenment.

Imagine the seed-syllable HUM at Vajrasattva’s heart. Visualize how the letters of his 100-syllable mantra run clockwise around its edge.

The light radiates in all directions from the HUM syllable at Vajrasattva’s heart. This light is asking the Buddhas to bestow their blessings. They send white rays of light, which are absorbed into the HUM and the letters of the mantra at Vajrasattva’s heart. They fill his whole body, enhancing the magnificence of his appearance and the brilliance of his mantra.

Conclusion

Before you start practicing Vajrasattva mantra you have to commit to following the path of wisdom and purity. This mantra is a powerful tool to heal and purify your karma. From my personal experience, I can tell you that the first benefit I noticed from regular Vajrasattva mantra practice was receiving extra energy so I easily cut down a couple of hours of sleep. Then I felt the intuition increase and my health improved. So I can promise you that by practicing this mantra you will surely see the benefits. All you need is pure intention and discipline!

Benefits For Pregnant Women

As you know, during pregnancy, a woman becomes particularly vulnerable – she needs to take care of her health, and the health of the future baby. During pregnancy, Adi Shakti mantra can be of great benefit to the baby. If during pregnancy you regularly chant this mantra, it is possible to change the karma of your child for the better.

Because of the uneven distribution of the level of acidity of the uterus the child’s brain can develop incorrectly. Mantric sounds harmonize the acidic environment in the uterus so that absolutely all organs receive enough energy for full growth and development.

Spiritual teachers recommend chanting this magic mantra for all nine months of pregnancy. This practice is very beneficial for the child at all stages of development. The chanting eases the condition and adjusts to the upcoming birth.

How To Chant Adi Shakti Mantra?

Before you start chanting Adi Shakti Mantra you need to take the correct posture. For this purpose, it is necessary to sit down with your spine straight without slouching. Make sure your body is relaxed and your eyes are closed.

There is no time limit for Adi Shakti mantra practice. You can do it anytime you want or need and as long as you want. It is desirable to chant this mantra for 11 min.

This practice should not be interrupted or distracted. Otherwise, the mantra will not give the desired effect.

You should chant the mantra aloud. This allows you to feel every vibration os the sacred sounds of the mantra.

You can accompany your mantra practice with not just the posture, but also with the Divine dance. If you can perform the Divine dance then your consciousness grows to Infinity, and the amount of Divine blessings you receive is doubled.

The Text Of Adi Shakti Mantra

Adi Shakti Adi Shakti Adi Shakti Namo Namo

Sarb Shakti Sarb Shakti Sarb Shakti Namo Namo

Pritham Bhagvati Pritham Bhagvati Pritham Bhagvati Namo Namo

Kundalini Mata Shakti Mata Shakti Namo Namo

Translation:

I call on the primal power.
I call on the all-encompassing power and energy.
I call on that through which God creates.
I call on the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother Power.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I’d like to quote Yogi Bhajan who said:

“Merge in the Maha Shakti. This is enough to take away your misfortune. This will carve out of you a woman. A woman needs her own Shakti, not anybody else will do it. When a woman chants the Kundalini Bhakti mantra, God clears the way. This is not a religion, it is a reality. A woman is not born to suffer, and a woman needs her own power.”

“When India and Indian women knew this mantra, it dwelt in the land of milk and honey.”

The Adi Shakti Mantra tunes us into the frequency of the Divine Mother. This mantra is especially beneficial for women since it activates Divine feminine energy. All you need to do is memorize the sacred words of the mantra, take the appropriate posture and chant it continuously for at least 11 minutes.

Attune Yourself To The Universe With Kundalini Mantra Practice

Published

on

kundalini mantra image

There are many mantras in the Kundalini yoga practice. Some mantras are used more often, some less often, depending on the goals. However, in the tradition of the Bhajan Yoga school, there are mantras that are used in every Kundalini yoga class. With the help of the Kundalini mantra we “open” and “close” the space of the Kundalini yoga class.

What Is Mantra?

A mantra is one of the most effective ways to control your consciousness. The word “mantra” means “vibrations of the mind”, or “projection of the mind”. It is not just a random set of melodious sounds, it is a very powerful vibration. A mantra is a special combination of sounds that causes vibrations in the human body.

Do We Really Need To Chant Mantras?

Mantra Chanting with Prayer beads image

Beginners often have a question “why should I chant mantras and can I practice yoga without mantra chanting?”. Some people are afraid of unfamiliar words, some don’t want to chant mantras for religious reasons, and some simply do not like the mantra chanting practice.

We are all free creatures. Therefore, each of us has the right to make their own choices. However, if we involve our spiritual development into certain spiritual tradition, it makes sense to listen to the rules and recommendations that this tradition offers us and at the very least respect them.

Another reason for mantra chanting is quite simple and seems to be pretty important. As you may have noticed from your own experience, for a modern person who has a lot of worries and thoughts in his head, it is extremely difficult to stop the current thoughts in one second and switch his mind to yoga and meditation. Chanting mantras before yoga class or meditation allows us to stop the cycle of thoughts, calm down and tune in to spiritual practice.

Another very important reason to chant mantras is the profound effect they have. This effect is associated with a complete restructuring of the nervous system as a result of created vibrations.

Kundalini Mantras

The Adi Mantra

Mantra text:

Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo

Translation:

I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to the Divine Teacher within.

This ancient kundalini mantra allows a practitioner to feel a connection with the divine teacher inside. “Adi” means original or first, and “mantra” means creative mental projection with sound. It is used in the Kundalini yoga for pre-class tuning so that both the teacher and the students have spiritual guidance.

The Mangala Charan Mantra

Mantra text:

Ad Guray Nameh

Jugad Guray Nameh

Sat Guray Nameh

Siri Guru Devay Nameh

Translation:

I bow to the primal wisdom.

I bow to the wisdom through the ages.

I bow to the true wisdom.

I bow to the great unseen wisdom.

This mantra disperses clouds of doubt and reveals us to the light that guides and protects us, surrounding our field with protective radiance.

This mantra is performed 3 times at the beginning of the class, after the Adi mantra. The whole mantra should be chanted on one exhale.

“Sat Nam” Mantra

Mantra Text:

Sat Nam

This mantra is most often used in the practice of Kundalini Yoga. “Sat” means truth, the reality of human existence. “Nam” means identity. This kundalini mantra is a seed mantra. The seed contains all the knowledge of the tree that has reached its full flowering. The seed is the identity of the truth, embodied in a condensed form. By chanting this mantra, you awaken the soul and attain your destiny. This kundalini mantra balances all the five elements.

“Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung” Mantra

Mantra text:

Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung

Translation:

Ra – Sun

Ma – Moon

Da – Earth

Sa – Impersonal Infinity

Sa Say – Totality of Infinity

So – Personal sense of merger and identity

Hung – The infinite, vibrating and real

This mantra is a healing kundalini mantra. It attunes the “Self” to the Universe. It brings balance. These eight sounds stimulate the flow of Kundalini in the spine, bringing healing.

Gobinday Mukanday

Text:

Gobinday, Mukanday, Udharay, Aparay

Hariang, Kariang, Nirnamay, Akamay

Translation:

Sustaining, Liberating, Enlightening, Infinite

Destroying, Creating, Nameless, Desireless

This mantra is able to eliminate karmic blocks and mistakes of the past. Its power clears our magnetic field, allowing us to relax more easily and enter tune into meditation. It is a protecting mantra. This beautiful kundalini mantra purifies the subconscious mind and balances the hemispheres of the brain, communicating compassion and patience to those who meditate on it.

Sa Re Sa Sa

Text:

Sa Re Sa Sa
Sa Re Sa Sa
Sa Re Sa Sa Sa Rung
Har Re Har Har
Har Re Har Har
Har Re Har Har Har Rung

Translation:

That Infinite Totality is here, everywhere. That creativity of God is here, everywhere.

This is the root Kundalini mantra, which is the basis of all mantras. It helps to eliminate all troubles, negativity, and prevent misfortunes. In addition, this mantra can give strength to your words and improve the quality of your communication with others. It also helps to gain all the wisdom of the past, present, and future.
